So I did a standard reset prefs , got the default browser view reopening X. Set the browser view to my liking and since then the changes have persisted. Am I glad that’s over….

If this browser list view problem is a bug, how is it that some people have it ( me) and some people don’t? I want to join the group of have nots in this case.

I’ll try the save work space avenue. I just re opened my project from a couple of days ago and the browser column view was back to the same BS . I just don’t get why that happens. Grrrr.

I’ve been writing a script most of the day which has been rolling a rock up hill. Cure by Cow just flew out of the keyboard and now I’m hoping I can throw a few similar things in my script!

I’ll be back at my desk a little later and will give another attempt at setting a custom browser view and getting it to stick . You could be right about it being a plist issue. the behavior on my machine is the opposite of what you observed. I set a custom browser view work in that for a while, close x , come back to x, and I’m back in the browser view that displays just about every possible field. That’s the view that is persistent for me .

X has never retained changes in my browser field view preferences. Never. I turn off all the fields that don’t want by unchecking them in the browser. when I go to reopen the project a hour or a day or days later, once again I am looking at a pile of unwanted fields, that I then have to go through the process of unchecking to hide yet again. I’m on 10.4.8 & .4.9 FWIW. OS is 10.14.6 & 10.15

  • there is no substitute for shoot more frames per second. Get a black magic 4k or 6 k and shoot 120 or a Red raven FS7 . I said black magic because its probably more in line with your budget if you are shooting with a Canon still camera.
