We use 1 tb drives…
The 1.5 tb drives are available, but the early ones have experienced some factory “recalls”. I think you’d
be OK with 1 tbs.Fry’s Electronics here in LA often has sales on those bare drives and they can be purchased for around $100 bucks. So for approx $500 bucks, you can have 4 tb’s of internal storage. (Raid to your liking).

Yep. X-SAN per seat license is around $900 bucks. Your server and back up server need it too.

You don’t have to take our advice. You can just struggle with a cobbled together mismash of software and existing hardware and take three times as long to complete the job.
Me… I’d rather bite the bullet and get it done in time to make it home for dinner.

With one of their cards and a PC, you won’t need FCP. Etc. Frankly, depending on how fast you need to get this done, I’d buy several.

Correction: X-SAN IS a “file level sharing” program. Not all “cheap SAN” solutions are, but X-SAN IS!
That’s why we use it.

LT/RT should work just like a straight audio file. We’ve done nothing special with it whenever
we do this.However, a Dolby E mix is an entirely different animal. You really should consult an expert if you’re dealing with that.
