I just started using it for sermon videos for my church, but just my pastor’s mic channel during the sermon. I simply export the audio to an AIF, run it through Levelator and paste it back in.

But I’m pretty sure Levelator was designed for spoken words. I wouldn’t recommend it for music.

Also important, Colin: what version of firmware do you have installed on your camera?

I always right-click on the .mov file, go to Open With… and select Quicktime.

Then someone better tell my old Sony DV set, because I’m looking at it displaying my Apple TV right now.

AppleTV will work with any TV or projector that has component inputs — including standard def TVs. If it has component inputs, it’ll work.

Does your customer already have the projector and screen? If so, what do they currently have connected to it?

If they don’t already have something, then buy an Apple TV. It’s what we use for our digital signage and it works awesome!

[Dave LaRonde] You can also use Compressor to convert the ProRes HD file into mp4. Or H.264.

If you make an mp4, change the file extension to .mpg. Some MS programs don’t seem to know .mp4 is the same thing.

It’s not playing on the other computer because the ProRes 422 codec is not available there.

It should be fine as long as the dup house has ProRes 422 available on their systems. But don’t assume. Always, always, ALWAYS check with your service providers for their preferred delivery formats and follow them TO THE LETTER!

If there was some way to mount this to the back of my camera and use it as an EVF, I’d pre-order 4 of them today. And if it could capture ProRes from the HD-SDI out to its internal SSD, I’d be on a plane to Cupertino right now with a suitcase full of cat-burglar equipment.
