Thanks, guys, for your assistance. Assume that VMS is pretty similar to Vegas Pro. When you talk about turning down the levels, what is the best way to approach this, especially over multiple clips?
What I am really trying to achieve here is to simply get the final recording’s sound level to more closely approximate the levels found on movie DVDs. My final produce is simply too loud across the board. I need to turn the volume on my receiver way down (down from the volume level I would use with a studio-produced movie) to prevent being blasted out of my seat.
Also, I know some clips are entering the red zone in the graphic display in the mixer.
So, I’d like to get those audio clips out of the red zone. Second, I’d like to reduce all levels, uniformly across all clips, as the entire production is too loud.
Thanks!

I just saw a video on You Tube on this very topic…

January 9, 2008 at 9:05 pm in reply to: DVDs created in Architect Studio 3 hang for a second…Just a follow up note – I checked one of my discs and found that the problem doesn’t repeat itself at the same point in the dvd. In other words, if I get a hang situation, then back up and replay the same scene where it previously hung, it will play it smoothly through. Go figure…

I never changed the bitrate from when I installed the software. I looked under “file”, “optimize DVD” and found the default video bitrate set at 8 Mbps in the lower left corner of the window. The project I am working on is 2.938 MB or 63% of 4.7 Gig media.
Under “options”, “preferences”, in “burning”, I found the “render options” showing a “minimum video bitrate” set at 2.0 Mbps.
If it were the media, I would have thought that the problem would occur at the same point on the finished disc, but I really don’t know. What do you suggest as a brand/vendor for media? All of my work is for my own and family’s entertainment – vacation videos, school plays, music recitals, etc.
Looking forward to your further thoughts. The whole video editing process provides an outlet for my creative side.

June 1, 2007 at 1:08 pm in reply to: 2 Jpegs – sized, rotated, and on screen simultaneously[Terry Esslinger] “Place photo 1 on track 1. Use event pan and crop to size and place it. Place photo 2 on track 2 and do the same thing. Move photo 2 to time you want it to appear. Both photos can be on the screen at the same time.
Thanks for your help! I had already used event pan to crop the jpegs to exactly what I wanted. I couldn’t figure out how to use it to place the jpeg at an angle, though. So I set up Photo 1 on one track (video overlay left, I called it) and used track motion to get the angle. Then I did the same thing with Photo 2, on another track (called video overlay right, not surprisingly).
I already had the shutter release sound from a Sony sound sampler CD that came with the software. But your suggestion for the short hard white flash was a great one – I’m working on that next.
Thanks again! This is a wonderful forum.

I tried another brand of media after shutting DVDA3 down. It returned to its normal status. In fact, it wrote on the questionable media – so at this point I don’t know if it was a fluke, the software or the media. I’ll have to keep an eye on this and then consider another piece of software to do the burn (if necessary). Thanks for the advice!

New to these forums and glad that they are here. I have the same problem right now, but without loading the software onto a new computer. I last used Architect 3 a week ago – it ran fine. Now, my burner is not shown on the drop down list, only the ISO image writer option is available. I’m running out to try other media to see if that fixes the issue. Anyone else run into this? Suggestions or solutions welcome. Thanks!
