Floh, when I go to “Launch”, it shows no items available. Were these supposed to be loaded when M100 was installed, or is there a way to point that command at specific items?

    Thanks!

  • As an XDCam shooter, two things I would throw in here:

The stereo shotgun mic always feeds channels 3 & 4, with inputs going into 1 & 2, so if I need nats as well as mics/mixer feed, I’m covered.

The camera op is responsible for what is being recorded in his camera. That is why you will always find a set of cans perched upon my noggin when the disc is spinning. (But since I’m also my own editor, I’m the one who’s screwed if I “forget” to record something.)

I know you will double-check the feed next time, so no worries there.

Peter, usually these setups are just PA mixes, and if that’s the case it may not matter much (to other people.) But I have been that TV crew that needed a feed – or just trying to record the mix for later playback – and it ended up being almost useless. I guess that’s why I think the way I do.

Now if we could only get these salesmen/installers to understand this. Maybe a subtle link to this forum…….

Gentlemen, thanks for confirming what I felt was right all along. For some reason, I’ve had people consider me “unusual” because I like to read meters, listen with headphones, etc. Must be some anal-retentive quality-control hangup of mine…..

    Thanks again!

Gentlemen, thanks for your confirmation that I should put it in the cabin with us. That’s the answer I was really looking for.

Well, this one stumped the kids at Sony as well. After trashing the prefs in FCP (they seemed to think that might help – not sure it did anything) I bumped up my OS to 10.6.3. That seems to have brought the Transfer software back to life, and I’ve noticed no other software issues – yet.

    Thanks for the assistance!

Thanks for the suggestions – I did them all, as well as updating Transfer to 2.13; changing cache size & location, reimported the disc; still get gray boxes. Any other ideas?

Thanks for the suggestions, Floh. I updated to 2.13, changed cache size and location & reimported proxies, made sure QT Pro was working; still get the gray boxes. The gremlins in my Mac don’t seem to like me anymore…

I had the same problem when I upgraded OS recently. Had to do the OS reinstall like you, but then there was a needed component missing (unfortunately, I don’t recall if it was a Quicktime or MPEG component…..) I had to reload Final Cut Pro, since that’s where the missing component was.

Maybe this can point you in the right direction. If I recall what was missing, I’ll post it.

    Good luck.
