    no i experimented and used a lot of these presets in a compressor called stomp. i saved out my tiff sequence using QT, compressed them here in stomp and when i opened the compressed version up in fcp they were still to soft. i1.creativecow.net/u/143950/0_picture5.png’>

    ok this is what i did, in QT player i went to,

    1 file>open image sequence, i then loaded in my tiffs

    2 file>export in this pop up box i choose, export: movie to QT movie and saved it to my desktop. i then opened it in fcp5 and the image was again too soft. im lost

    i have posted info about graphics card and my settings in fcp5, but i dont understand the questions, Are you resizing? and Is EVERYTHING PROGRESSIVE (NONE)? ARE YOU RENDERING IN 8b RGB?

    i cant find the Prores 444 codec and its not a matte as such its an ambient occlussion render from a 3d programme. its a cgi image. i really need to unsoften these movies, any more advice would be great

    sorry for being a pain but i used an apple animation codec in stomp and that reduced my file size to 110 mb from 600 mb i then imported my 110 mb file into fcp5 and exported as a QT movie when i played it back it was very soft. what else can i do to solve this problem?

    i used apple animation codec in stomp and that compressed my 600mb file to 150mb but when i import into fcp5 then render and export as QT movie i still get soft looking image.
