I got the 512 of SSD storage and the i9 with the 580x graphics. It’s editing everything very smoothly in final cut – 4K log footage, 10bit. I also edit h265 easily. I’m using a Samsung T5 with no issues.

Thanks, Oliver. Yes, leaving files in place instead of the library is something that I’ve been doing recently. Your post makes a lot of sense. I’ll have the extra storage space if I need it.
