$50 per hour is more realistic than per video! Like someone mentioned, that’s the irony, free or decent pay. If you go for the “schmuck rate”, they’ll want endless changes, tweaks, etc. If they are paying full price, every adjustment costs. If it’s free, it’s free: Here’s your video, goodbye!

yes, we too have had that and it was the windows permissions settings. If you’re on a multi-user system, this can only be changed by the administrator.

Not sure if this is the answer, but did you check your draft playback mode in the bottom of the timeline? It’s a green square for full quality, green and yellow for medium, and all yellow for draft. If it’s in draft or even medium quality, the video would playback in lower quality than if the cursor is parked. This is done so you can view effects, etc. without having to render. To change this, just click on the box until it’s all green.
