Vincent, great tip on the fill left effect. I’m working on a project and your tip is just what I was looking for. Thank you!
For those folks who are looking for this effect, it can be found under Audio Effects, and you have 2 options to fill left channel with right, and right channel with left, essentially making your audio mono. Super easy to use.

May 19, 2015 at 12:23 am in reply to: quicktime export problem with “freeze frame” stillsEven though this thread is over 5 years old, it was super helpful! I was running into the same problem as the initial poster (Tom) mentioned. After going into sequence settings and changing field dominance to “none” it worked like a charm.
I’m shooting on a MKII C100 and still editing on FCP7.
Thanks,

You’re welcome, Ingemar! I believe I read that you do a fair amount of hiking to get to your shoots. Regarding the C100, as much as I love it, it is heavier as compared to the Sony.

Hi Ingemar,
While the GH4 is a lovely camera, small and easy to get around, it’s not the best in low light. You may want to look into a Canon MKII C100, which is a beast in low light and designed for video, all the while capturing the DSLR cinematic look. It also has pro audio inputs and headset jack.
Sony A7 is fabulous as well; amazing low light shooting abilities.

Hi Marcio,
I have not had the level of issues that you mentioned. My overheating 70D was becoming more and more consistent for me so I do not use it anymore as my primary camera.
My overheating issues may have been from a recording device which I had stacked under my battery pack. My shooting partner still uses his 70D and has great luck, but he does not stack an audio unit under his batt pack, which leads me to believe this may have been my problem.
I recently picked up a new MKII C100 and no longer have any problems. It has a built in fan to keep it cool. I use the 70D as a backup or b-cam. My primary purpose is video. I wish I had some helpful insight to share with you. I, too, would be worried about filming outside.
Best to you,
-Mark

Thanks, Craig, for responding.
My export settings are: File Format MP4, Video Format H264, Data Rate 10,0000, Image Size 1280 x 720, Frame Rate 30, Key Frame Automatic. Optimized for Download.
I tried “automatic” frame rate, and that did not help.
For H264 Video Options, the box “Main” is checked under “Restrict Profiles To.”
Encoding Mode: Best.
I had tried multipass VBR and that did not help.
I do not see a deinterlace feature when I try to export MP4.
Can you please tell me about MainConcept?
Thanks again!

December 15, 2014 at 2:55 am in reply to: Thinking of going to Sony Vegas — looking for system requirementsThanks all for all your suggestions! My Mac Book Pro is from 2009, Version 10.6.8, 2.4 Ghz Core i5. I am not sure if it will work with Sony Vegas. Also, I’d like to create a better system to backup my files, and it seems that using a tower may work better with raid drives.

I am still editing on FCP 7 and I have no issues bringing in the footage from my 90 using Log and Transfer. Works like a charm.

Good plan to call B&H. Good luck.
