I am having the same problem. I have uploaded video to my computer in FCP using my HV30 only two weeks ago, but now the computer won’t recognize the HV30. I have read several forums about this, but can’t understand the explanations. I do know that when you go to the blue apple in the corner and click “about this Mac” and then “more info…” and then “firewire” it is supposed to show your camera hooked up to the computer. Mine does not.
People are telling me there is an option on the camera that I have not found. Something to do with HDV/DV that I can’t find. If you toggle it back and forth and then check the computer it will show up on the firewire. If you know how to help me, please post.

Clarification: When I view a clip from a bin I have audio. When I view a clip from the Timeline I have no audio in the viewer, but I have audio in the Timeline.

The contents files were copied, but the lastclip.txt files were discarded when filming.
Is there any way to recreate lastclip.txt files?
Is there any program that can read the contents files without the lastclip.txt files?
