HAHA Yes! it makes no sense! I also have to color correct and edit BSP footage, not the HDCam. Its Bass Ackwards
We are a stock footage house and people that provide us with footage sometimes make a mess of things

This is NTSC BSP sample, the time code was burned in from HDcam, so that we can track down the shot to HDCam master

In the perfect world i would have HDCam footage but as this is not my footage its another stock house, they do not want to pay for new transfer.
MY BSP is for preview purposes for my clients, so burned in time code is necessary.
Wanted get highest quality out of what i got, interlacing and higher frame rate doesn’t help.

What i think has happened here is that there was PAL downconversion from HDCam, i know they did that once before and interlacing looked identical to this.
Would this even be possible to detelecine? i don’t see how, it bottles the mind 😉

35mm negative > HD Cam SR 1080 24p > downconverted to PAL BSP > NTSC Beta SP
