Thanks John for saving me the time of trying to make it work! So, what IS the fix?

Do I have to render each little chunk of MP4 that I use; which will generate a new shorter file. And then bring it back into the timeline and get rid of the big file in the media pool?

I will experminet with Opening the MP4 files in the “Trimmer” and making subclips…

Seems like a lot of extra work… Why doesn’t Sony include this as an option we could select if we wanted it for “Save As”?

Thanks John. Your posts are always very helpful.

I tried it on one AVI file, and the trim did not work. I tried it on a different AVI ( one that came from a DV tape that I imported ) and it DID work!

What are the typical file formats that use ” intra-frame codecs ” ?
