    Hi Nick

Thanks very much for this, I haven’t used FCP in a while so your suggestion really helped me out!!

    Hi Shane

Thanks for your response. I’ve double checked and both the camera audio and sound desk audio are 48khz.

Ah ok, so rather than select ‘Avid Compatible’ during the AAF export from FCP I need to select the MXF option, makes sense! Thanks so much for taking the time to post, really appreciate it.

  • Ryan, thanks so much for taking the time to respond, that’s a really logical clear solution.

    All the best.

    Hi Colin

Not a rant, just passionate frustration, which exporting and formats very often lead to.

    Thanks for your experience though.

    Cheers

    Hi Dave

Thanks for getting back. I’ve tried both QLab support and the AV tech who’s going to be running the software during a live event.

The reason I’m trying here is because the tech told me ‘anything but H264’ and QLab told me ‘Pro Res LT or H264’ (file size dependent).

Neither of them use FCP so I was hoping an editor out there may have some ‘real world’ experience of what was a consistently reliable export setting for QLab playback.

    Thanks again.

  • Thanks for the replies!

Yes, I’ll convert via QT Pro now but still bamboozled by what FCP was doing to the export.

    Thanks again.

  • NO! Removing H264 clip from sequence didn’t help, still experiencing above mentioned problem with export.

  • Ok I’ve found some other posts that mention H264 footage possibly causing problems in amongst all my HDV 1080 footage.

I have one short H264 clip in there so I’m now trying an export with that clip removed from timeline.

    Will post back results.
