But actually, this helps me come to a compromise solution where I will create sequences for just those tricky cards, project manage those, and give her those cards reduced in that way on her hard drive. So, thank you for keeping that in the picture.

Thanks, Mads, I’ll take a look at that. Good thing to learn anyways because yes, have totally ignored it.

Because of the low tech confidence of the other user, and unclear internet reliability, I’m staying away from cloud and server options for now….

Thank you, Devrim. I actually did try that yesterday, and because I didn’t have a Sequence selected the option to Collect and Copy was grayed out. Thoughts?

Because just a few cards are an issue in actuality, for now, I’ve been thinking about just copying all the other cards over from camera originals, and then just figuring out creating some kind of substitute method – exporting QT files from the project – for the few files that are trapped in card folders I can’t share wholesale. But still curious if there is a more elegant way.

Thank you very much. I’m totally clear on all those fronts, but appreciate all the reminders.

We are pre-edit.

It may help for me to add the workflow.

I am Mac and have all the original footage from 12 years ago. Redundancy galore. I have complete camera originals and know all about those.

She will be PC. I am making her an EXFAT files drive.

I can’t just copy the whole drive as some cards – and then more tricky because that wouldn’t be so hard, some files within cards – can’t go to her for various reasons.

I’m going to her for a week to teach her Premiere Pro and leave her with a drive, so she can browse footage herself and start some light sequencing/editing. I don’t need any advice on that part. This is solely a question about making a selective clone drive. But it may help to know some of that.
