120 for gui and 4000 for gpu.
it would be not to expensive to get lets say 285 or 470 and have 10 bit running smoothly.
i myself would go 6xx seres.
yes one could maybe go and see 8 bit but it does not help as much as swapping gpu
is just my point.—

yes but 4000 is insanely weak.

Hi.
I see you have 4000 as gui
I’d change that if possible.
Then you would not have to bother with this 8 bit stuff.—

I believe he did already?
I also believe it was broken project file after crash.
Seems like file based approach do not have back up feature as on database we see?
So it would bee good idea to have at least time machine running to prevent problem like this.
What are other people using for scenario like this ?

You can only have constant speed changes not variable speed change or it will not work.

Yes if you are okay then it is really fine.
I have done also some feature work on slower pro with 285 and it is doable.
But it really depends on your client and what you charge.
Non client sessions do how ever you like i think.

You could do this:
Export baked out file (one long mov lest say)
Import it back on the upper track.
Make cuts like it was on lower tracks
delete lower tracks
lower the baked video to v1
export edl.should work every time.
in resolve you add your file to media pool and then import edl.
and there you go you have long file with cuts. the you just do batch copy etc and start grading.Something like this.
