I think we’ll see some 4K VOD distribution next year via h.265.
But don’t forget these are computer displays- not primarily meant for watching movies and such.

It’s the same sort of general buzz about RED footage and GPU acceleration we’ve been hearing for months. It will be interesting to see what comes of all the rumours.

As for the info- I posted here and at FCP.co, and in a couple of tweets, plus Alex4Ds post; and it never took off in the rumour mills. My claims are unsubstantiated, so I guess it wasn’t solid enough for them to run with.
I hope my info isn’t bogus. Last thing I want is presenting false info.

I remember hearing that Adobe’s OpenGL performance has improved dramatically, making the no-CUDA card option less damning. But I cannot remember where I heard that.

Why didn’t Andy just point to IBC himself? WTF?! He was making sound like some super-secret thing.
I don’t get it.
I came in here last week with wild claims of MacPro pricing. But I told everyone straight out what my source was. If my info turns out to be inaccurate, so be it.
But if I can’t credit a source for info (cause I can’t reveal it) then I’m sure as heck not going to present it as fact.

Considering my Apple guy was able to configure with those options last week AND give me prices; I don’t think that’s the case.
But we shall see soon enough.

I’d like to think I have the numbers on my side. Since 10.0, every feature release- Larry has been there with training at the ready day one.
My tact is, follow the wind. Until the wind changes.

That’s a mistake I don’t see Apple making again.

There’s no point debating this is the dark when we’ll know full well whether Larry has had advanced access as soon as the software comes out.
