There are companys that can help you with this kind of delivery.

With these two companys we can deliver to almost any TV-Station of interest in our region.
The costs are low and it is easy to deliver to them.A lot of the TV-Stations do not except tapes anymore and insist delivery through one of these companys. All this has happened in the short timespan of 1 year.

I have found two European resellers and their prices are extremely competitive compared to the established brands.
A NA333A-R 16 bay chassis + ARC-1680IX-16 (incl. extra DDR2-2048ECC) + 16 enterprise class 1TB discs (+1 spare). at about $6K. That’s 16TB – with raid controller!!I became interested in the Areca controller after reading this:

I know it is the ix-12 – that is mentioned in the review and the one you need for this set-up would be the ix-16. I don’t think that there is a big difference, other than positive. Areca also state on their website that card works with 10.5.6, which many other manufacturers still are working on.
There are probably other Raid cards that could work. I don’t know??I would also like to point out that this is kind of a BIY system…. So be prepared..or get some help.
Anyway…I think it is very interesting. If the chassis and controller work and is stable it is hard to beat.Now… where did I misplace my credit card??

Thanks… I was hoping to do this in VTRxchange… But as a solution I could use FCP if this solves my
RGB (source)->YUV (Framebuffer)->RGB (Compressor) thing…Did you notice if the framebuffer stayed RGB?

If there isn’t a 25fps 4:4:4 default setting, can I somehow make one?

The D-21 is running HD Mode – dual link HD-SDI (SMPTE 372M):1920 x 1080 4:4:4 RGB 10 bit@25PsF
The control panel is blue on input -> framebuffer (YUV) -> output
When trying to use the 1080p25 setting I loose the image in VTR Xchange
Trying one of the 2k settings (which puts the Framebuffer into RGB) can not be used because:
1- there is no 25 fps
2- wrong frame size compared to input.Any ideas?

Yes, the recommendation I received from tiger tech. indicates that there is no need for SAN in such an environment.

That is exactly what I do. The built in ethernet does office IP 192.168.0.xx. and the 2 external ethernet PCI cards do the edit IP 10.0.0.xx.
I make sure that i connect correctly with CMD-k (write ip-adresse) and save these as shortcuts or make them auto-mount at startup.
It works well under 10.5.5.Good luck!

I now realize that my 10gbe solution is not doable.
I don’t need the bandwidth right now…But it is always good to look ahead and know whats out there.NOW…when are you done with your AoE solution?

As I read it, 10gbe can deliver over the TCP stream 9661.82 Megabits/second which would give: 1207 megabytes/second
I know that in real life we could expect it to be slower but there is a long way down to 180 megabytes/second.
