actually, changing the type seems to work. I can change it to direction fading and see the effect, but not under the ‘natural’ type. Weird…

okay, I’ll turn off multiprocessing.I’m trying to prerender the elements that I can, but it’s a complex 3D project and some of the prerenders end up getting knocked out of 3D space or just not interacting with the rest of the comp correctly.

Well, couldn’t figure it out. I know all about precomping layers and using adjustment layers to avoid intersecting and collapsing the comps. Nothing I did seemed to work. I thought that maybe it was a vector paint effect that was messing things up, but that doesn’t seem to be it either.

I ended up just splicing the two comps together instead of having them overlap. There’s a moment where the camera goes through the wall and in that moment, I spliced them together.

Super lame work around, but I need to get this done and am not sure what else to do.

Ha. This thread has been encouraging.

I guess I’ll just have to do a test shoot and see if it works.

Having her in the ocean is definitely not an option. I live in the north west which means that our actress would probably succumb to hypothermia before she actually drowned.

I’ve also thought about sinking a large blue tarp to the bottom of the swimming pool and trying to key out the water.
