    Hi Deadhead,

interesting observations; I haven’t had the same trouble…perhaps there have been changes? I’m using firmware 1.10 in LOGIC control mode. The faders are still not exactly touch-sensitive but I think they’ve fixed a bit of the ‘fighting’ effect one got before.
Anyway I’m just doing rough mixing; but I’m curious: did you have a custom template for your setup? I haven’t been able to find much information on how to program the unit (I found the manual quite cryptic), and behringer’s little java-based programming thing simply doesn’t work properly on OS X. I would really have liked to been able to reassign the mute/solo buttons differently than they are configured in Behringer’s standard LOGIC emu template.

Mmm…no, the fixed resolution thing didn’t come in to it; but I did some more tests and I found I got better results when I set anti-aliasing to Best — infact, it wasn’t just an incremental improvement but really a different look, to the way motion handled hi-frequency details and line-crawling. etc. I wonder, is it sort of switching over to a more software-based renderer when you use the “Best” setting? Because it was also accompanied by a huge slowdown in performance, so much that I think one can only really set it when you’re ready to render out.

    — do you find this is applicable to the Blackmagic SD cards as well? I have a DL Extreme and have noticed some crashing…however it seems from the other posts that maybe it’s just the HD cards?

Well, it seems if you have a file set up with Basic 3D on it, then change the project to 16bit, it goes all wrong. It doesn’t seem to be able to compute it in 16 bit; it just looks like distortion; however, on later thought, this might be because in 16bit the graphics card can only handle smaller files…that is, in 8bit, you can’t animate anything bigger than 2048×2048 and in 16bit I’m sure this is actually more limited. Maybe a smaller file, like 1024×1024 would be able to render properly in 16bit with the Basic 3D effect, I don’t know, I have to try it
