Thanks Matt. I have actually read that article and followed those instructions. It was a day’s work bringing all the audio back to the timeline with Match Frame and also it was unnerving doing so much in the timeline after picture-lock, increasing the chance that something could go wrong. But it worked pretty well during the edit.

I will take your advice and get used to working with so many tracks. I hate the technical side of editing and just want to dive in (obviously with colorists and sound in mind).

It’s a shame you can’t ‘collapse’ a set of tracks so that it appears as one on the timeline. Oh well.

    Thanks for your reply!

Thank you Michael! Good to know it’s not just a setting somewhere I should have checked.

That’s good to know Michael. So would an editor even need to relink back to original footage if they are receiving colored files from the colorist anyway?

    Thanks Drew,

I’m almost back to normal. And now for some reason Match Frame doesn’t work, which is a huge bummer. It’s like my timeline footage is still having a hard time linking to the original media. I deleted all the Avid MediaFiles including the database file so maybe it’s that.

    Anyway, thanks.

    Hi Drew,

My goal is to relink to original media so I can export an aaf to Davinci Resolve and also export the original media from Avid rather than the low bit-rate transcoded footage. Basically, I want the original media back in the timeline.

    Thanks.

    Thanks Greg!

    I’ll try those methods instead.

  • Same problem. Did you ever solve this? Thanks.

    So I have 14 already (14.0.0b.037)

Do I need to update or reinstall?

    Thanks for replying Shane!

That’s interesting. So are you saying that if I want to output the image in Resolve to a dedicated screen, it should just be an HDTV and not a computer monitor because of the signal?

So if we get a really color accurate TV (rec.709 at 100%), it will do the job as both a color ref for me and a client monitor?
