Hi Tim,
Yep the full install has worked on Premiere CS2 for us, but still having trouble with CS3 so i’ve put that to the side for the moment until we get the film finished. I do have the 32bit drivers for XP, but am still on Xena 3.1.0 drivers because they worked before and don’t want to jepordise wasting anymore time if the 3.5.0 ones stuff it up again. Thanks for the help, much appreciated.

Hi Tasos,
Im having exactly the same problem as you – CS3 cannot “see” the AJA presets. Did you end up fixing you problem? If so how did you do it? Ive tried calling AJA Support but im in Australia and the time difference has just turned to close of business for them. I have a 36 hour deadline for a film festival, if you could help with any info that would be of great help!

Yeah they’ll probably ask you to reinstall everything including the OS just incase. They even sent me a hard drive with a fresh install of XP with SP2 and all .net updates as well as all the mobo drivers etc etc that we needed. The customer service has been great with them, pitty all the fiddling around trying to get it to work with uninstalls and reinstalls and then it was just a cable. Good luck with it Ray!

Ok I have just had the problem fixed!!! After doing EVERYTHING under the sun to fix it all it came down to was a faulty breakout cable. Be sure to test the cable thoroughly though. I’d definately recommend calling AJA support and spending some time running through all of the things they recommend. Also try reinstalling etc all the usual things. The .Net updates were also a big thing that they made sure i checked. So make sure you have everything updated, all other drivers etc too.
Good Luck with it mate!

From what I understand, Premiere 2.0 and CS3 can be installed on the same machine, just not run at the same time. I too havent had any problems with similar and waaay bigger projects in 2.0. And for CS3 ive been making sure all of my assets aren’t all over the place and that I keep my folers to a minimum, make sure only relevant files are imported in the project and defragged regularly. Lets hope they sort out this soon. Adobe have been good with the updates thus far, 2 in the last 2/3 weeks.
The ‘corrupted file’ explaination from adobe is fair and I can understand where their coming from. Because of the amount of constant crashing whilst editing and rendering and “serious errors” the saved files cant stand up to it.
As for me, im reverting to 2.0 and also adding in Aspect v5 until more CS3 patches comes out and stablises it.

Yep ive just re-installed and re-updated to 3.1.0 and there is no difference… this has got to be a Premiere bug. Ive done all the usual basic stuff that support has asked me to do like defragging and san disk. I dont know where to go from here…
If anyone finds a solution please let us know! Thanks

Hi,
I have had a similar problem with an Adobe HDV project. 11 seperate project files (11 interviews) and 9 of them are fine and two of them are totally screwed due to “Media Offline”. I an ‘re-online’ them and begin a render. It crashes during the render of course and so even if you save before it crashes and then you restart the clips are offline again. Called adobe – no solution except to re-install premiere. havent done that yet so ill see at the end of the weekend how the reinstall goes. But from what your saying it doesnt look like it will help at all.
Let us know if you find a solution!

Ah, yep I know what your talking about now.
No, im just using the breakout cable (aka pigtail). We’re looking at getting the KLBox, but seeing we haven’t had the need to use the Xena yet (all HDV Premiere and Full HD After Effects projects so far) we might need to put it on hold for a moment.
Thanks for your help though mate its been much appreciated, lets hope AJA Tech Sup can delve a bit more into my problem and get me sorted 🙂
Ill post the solution on here once its found.

Hi szumlins,
Unfortunately I dont have a way of testing the SDI out at this point in time.
Please find below the link to the screen captures of the settings in both Machina and Premiere CS3
I have tested an SD project with the SD AJA preset in Premiere and also a Full HD 1920×1080 AVI in Machina. Obviously I have changed the playback settings to corelate with the clips that I was trying to playback.
My connections are as such – Xena LH -> Breakout Cable Component BNCs -> BNC to Component Adapters -> 25ft Component Cable -> Component IN on HD LCD TV.
The cable and TV are brand new and work fine.
And forgive me, but what is D–>A or A–>D that your referring too?
