I have had the same issue. Try making a new project (timeline) and copy everything in your video into the new timeline. Then export before you make any changes to your project. Worked for me hope it works for you.

December 5, 2011 at 7:55 pm in reply to: Mono and Stereo in FCPX

No the project only shows the one signal. However I do think that I am editing surround sound because I see all six channels. I would like to edit in stereo, how do I make that change to an existing project?

Altho it only shows one channel I still hear duel mono when editing on headphones. It is only after I export that I hear the one channel (perhaps because I am in surround sound).
    Thanks for your help

Thank you so much I will check it out. I did find a short term solution for my problem by copying the whole timeline and pasting it in a new timeline.

November 30, 2011 at 4:12 pm in reply to: make 8mm film scratches from white to black???

I have had the same question in the past. I have transferred thousands of feet of 8mm film and in the end I decided that great color correction goes along way. Anything more detailed seems to take more time than it is worth.
( I also find it odd you have white scratches, usually they are black)

I will check back to see if anyone knows of a plugin, but it has been my experience that all the plugins make perfectly good video look like 8mm film not the other way around.

I am having the opposite experience with FCPX, I jumped in all the way and it seems like every day I am finding new things that it cant do. I keep telling myself that learning a new language is never easy. I look forward to finishing my internship and getting back to BYU-I to start into MC.

I have been jumping back and fort with operating systems for about a year. Different employers are requiring different workflows. I will tell you its not about fear of change, its just that macs work smoother and better. Comparable machines are no longer comparable when you have a different OS.

Im a lover not a fighter and I am certainly not a brand junky, but this is my experience.
