So i agree with what you say it makes perfect sense. I went on convergent designs website and saw a video you download from h1 that was 24p which was recorded from sdi and appled 3:2 pulldown because it comes out in a 60i wrapper. So im guessing the same would be for component but then i was on another forum where someone was going to use a ki pro with h1 and they asked aja tech support and they sent them back this

That’s the answer I got from AJA.
    Andrea:

The XLH-1 will always output 29.97 via the HD-SDI output.
The IOHD is auto detecting the correct format. There is now way around this if you capture with the IOHD. You will have to use 29.97
The only way to output 24 frame out of that camera is via Firewire.

So i know aja knows their stuff but convergent design is selling this feature so im more confused at this point i guess.

So then if I had something like a mxo2 then I could capture at 24f off of the component to pro res for much better quality. Has anyone done this and verified it comes out as 24f because I have looked on owners manual and it says anything out of component or even sdi on g1 comes out as 60i.

2 canon xh a1s and i also have a hv30 if need a 3rd. so i would go compenant from xha1 and xrl mic into kipro on each one then if need be hdmi from hv30 into kipro. I have never done the tc thing you spoke oh so could you explain it a litter more.

I dont plan on doing any 3d stero stuff but i wanted to do a few interviews with 2 or 3 cams with no genlock or tc on cams. What would ideally be best way to achieve this with kipro, sorry about not stating that since my need is no where near what you guys are talking about. And if not a good effective way with kipro i guess i can always just sync up in post old fashioned way.

so does this mean if we have cameras with no timecode or genlock that we can still achieve this by using the kipro and if so how do you do it.

Bob i asked about the audio from the rcas because in your review of the aja converter you say how the audio is -10db and not +4 which you say is pro.

You then put how the aja lets you make it right with the dip switches and i think you called it csmr.

One thing you never did say was how was the quality of the conversion from analog to digital.

Hey bob when you did use it for your beta vtr did you have to mess with the audio signal at all or did it seem right level.

What is cav, is that compenant cable sorry dont know the proper terms.

Peter would you be willing to make me a cable like you did and sell it to me since i have no clue how to make one.
