Thank you Roland,

I’ve read the article you cited and still can’t seem to get what I need.

When I pre-comp the Illustrator layer with its layer style (color overlay) it’s either too blurry without the CR switch on, or if I turn the CR switch on it’s just like it was back in the main comp: sharp, but unaffected by the lights.

I’m simply trying to animate a black line into a pale yellow line while retaining the lighting environment. It doesn’t seem so audacious!
