September 10, 2016 at 4:19 pm in reply to: Reinstalling Magix Vegas Pro 13 on another Pc?

    Hi,

I wasn’t even thinking at all about this can change…
At the very moment I have Vegas pro 13 installed (and activated) on both my desktop and notebook.
On my desktop updated my V13 to build 545 (a MAGIX build) at hte moment I found Vegasaur 2.7.
Now, I updated my notebook as well. I see no problem so far, but asked about the situation at Magix support.
I’ll report back if get an answer 😉

    Hi,
I still use DVDA, but only for preparing.
I burn the discs with Nero.(it is possible to use more burners at the same time)
When I had many menupages with animated stuff, it took a while for DVDA to prepare…

    I completely disabled all auto-updates.
Once an overnight render was distroyed by an update which required (and did itself) a restart. In the morning I expected a finished render, but found the login screen, uhhh.
Once an update completely destroyed my Photoshop.
I just check for updates after the”patch tuesday”, and let install only the security updates, and afterwards test if important things still work…

September 9, 2016 at 5:14 am in reply to: Activation of Older SCS Software Question

    Hi,

I don’t have all the SCS products, only Vegas pro 10 (and now 13 too), DVD Architect 5.2, 6.0, Audio Studio 10.
My experience was that I could activate all of these on 07.21. this year, which was quite after Magix acquisition.
Based on my experience, and this here:
    https://www.custcenter.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5200/track/AvOj8wobDv8S~bvjGpEe~yKnQvkqiS75Mv8g~zj~PP~p
I thought I’m sure it is possible to activate…
In fact, I did it with Vegas pro 10 yesterday 🙂
But thee are not MoieEZ HD, etc, and Jorma’s post made me unsure, if ALL the products can be activated online right now.

The best thing if you try on an other system, as you mentioned, and if it works be happy.
(If I could not reactivate V10 on my notebook, it wasn’t a big loss, but on my desktop I want to keep it in a working state for a year or so)
I”m not sure, when Sony bought software from Sonic Foundry, that time an activation was required….

I’m not sure how, but it worked. After giving the serial, it could register online, 3 minutes ago…

I am sure about when I installed and activated.

I upgradede to V13 when I received the mail about the free upgrade to V14…

Since I don’t use V10 now on the notebook, I’ll try to uninstall, reinstall, and see if I can activate.

    Hi,

    They are activated by MAGIX.

My old notebook died, and bought a new one. Here I installed Vegas pro 10 on 2016.07.21. and succesfully activated.
I just upgraded to Vegas 13 on 07.31.

  • [Derek Charles] “Is that the only thing I can do to boost Vegas with it is this option in Properties?”

    I think, yes.

[Derek Charles] “How much weaker is this for me than having the Ati? Am I missing out?”

Only an exact comparation could answer this quesion. Having Vegas on a PC, and changing only the video cards (and drivers of course) and test the performance again.
As this question is about a laptop, there’s nothing you can do in this regard. However, you can disable the GPU support, and THEN you’ll see how much work your Nvidia did for your Vegas 🙂
I think, it still helps a lot.

So, I’d just use that laptop, and next time look for something that has an Ati (if things does not change for Nvidia until then ;))

    Kind regards

  • Oh, I forgot this:

[Derek Chalres] “I’ve always been told to have GPU acceleration set to off… “

This is something like when you buy a newer car with a turbo-diesel motor, becuase a turbo-diesel can go and accelerate much faster. And when the turbo has strange sideeffects, have it dismount from the motor…

If something works weird, you can try to disable GPU support as a workaround. This was my first sad lesson to learn with Vegas 13. (https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/24/1012803)
I keep it on, and sitch off only if it causes problems – and report the case to MAGIX, otherwise it never will be solved.

    Kind regards
