You must have an event or project selected (blue selection, not gray) to get the option. If it’s an event it will say Delete Event Render files, and if it’s a project it’ll say Delete Project Render Files.

You can do it from the finder, High Quality Media is the biggest hard drive hog but the other 2 can go as well.
Those files are good to keep for projects in progress, they can be used to speed up the display of your clips and faster playback and exports. However, they just take a little time to recreate so they can be safely deleted, especially for completed projects.
You can also do it within FCPX by selecting either an event or a project and choosing file–>delete render files.

The bundle file is new as of 10.1 so shouldn’t be on your computer. In all versions of FCPX up to 10.0.9, CurrentVersion.fcpevent and CurrentVersion.fcpproject files have to be in a specific location for FCPX to see them.
In your user movies folder, or the root of any non-system hard drives, there should be 2 folders. Final Cut Projects and Final Cut Events. If you can’t find any, create them (make sure FCPX is closed when doing this).
Inside the Final Cut Projects folder you need a folder for each project, and inside that folder you need a CurrentVersion.fcpproject. The project folder name can be anything.
Inside the Final Cut Events folder you also need a folder for each event, and inside that folder you need a CurrentVersion.fcpevent. The event folder name can also be anything.

CurrentVersion.fcpevent files as of version 10.1 now exist inside the new .fcpbundle files (FCPX Libraries).
Double clicking a .fcpbundle will launch FCPX and open it as expected.
CurrentVersion.fcpevent files not inside a .fcpbundle were created with an older version of FCPX. Those files needed to be in a specfic folder (Final Cut Events in the root of any drive) in order to open them.
Stupidly, double clicking a .fcpevent file would bring up that error message.
To answer your question we need to know which version of FCPX you are using. I highly recommend updating to FCPX 10.1

I’ve been having a bunch of problems with compressor since the update using old settings. Still trying to troubleshoot. For now I have to use FCPX to do my transcoding.

Is this an updated project/event? If so, what version were you using before? If you create a new library and import the clips does the same thing happen?
Have you tried putting the library on a different drive to rest for hard drive problems?

I upgraded normally and everything showed up as expected. Did you manually recreate any folders? Some folders need to be created by motion or fcpx won’t recognize them. You can tell which folders were created by Motion if they show up with a .localized in terminal.

I understand the frustration about not being able to keyframe color controls, but I prefer to use the effects from motion anyway as they are much more flexible (although not as pretty to use).

If you can find that file in the finder, see if you can copy just that file to another drive – I have a feeling that’s the bad one.
Also, if you can afford the time to re-render and re-transcode, delete all your transcoded, render, and analysis files to eliminate them as the source of your problem.
If neither of those work, then I’d suggest manually copying a few files at a time in the finder until you can isolate the problem file or files.
