    Motion Template Files

    I installed FCPx10.1 on a clean hard drive with a fresh install of Mavericks. This way I can still work on current projects with 10.0.9 and run 10.1 for new projects.

    Because it is a new install on a new hard drive, I tried moving some of my Motion templates to 10.1 but they won’t show up. I copied them to: User:Movies:Motion Templates Same file structure as my other disk with 10.0.9. FCP 10.1 doesn’t see the files.

    Is anyone else having this problem from just updating from 10.0.9? Do I have to re-save the templates in Motion 5.1

    I upgraded normally and everything showed up as expected. Did you manually recreate any folders? Some folders need to be created by motion or fcpx won’t recognize them. You can tell which folders were created by Motion if they show up with a .localized in terminal.

    Thanks Loren. I’ll try creating a template in Motion so it can build the folder structure, then transfer the templates over.
