Hi Bala / Michael thanks for your responses. In the ex1 menu, i have set the white balance preset B to mem, however on screen I am still seeing ATW aligned to this white balance, why is this ? Also I notice there
is a button under the camera that turns on and off the shutter, what does this do ? and what icon would be associated with this on the LCD screen. Any responses much appreciated

thanks Michael, the white balance presets A & B, if you set mem
to preset A and then white balance, am i correct in saying that white balance is stored to this setting, so if you flick over to preset A and then flick back to preset B, it will pick up the white balance setting that you created earlier ? Also when ATW is set to preset, you can still manually white balance on this setting. What exactly ATW mean on the EX1 ?

thanks Brent for your response. I see you have an EX1, have you used the glidecam with the EX1 without the vest. If so how long can you hold it for ? I was wondering have you done functions e.g weddings where
you have used 1 camera and transferred the camera between glidecam and
tripod, can this be done quickly ? any responses much appreciated

Hi Steve, would you follow this process

    1) Before importing the MP4 into Sony Vegas, you set the Project Properties. The properties for video are : Template HD 1080-50i and the Full resolution rendering quality is set to Best.
Next the properties for audio are ; Sample Rate HZ (44,100). Resample and stretch quality is set to Best

    2) After finishing the project’s edit, render the format to be XDCAM EX (mp4) HQ 1920*1080-50i,35 Mbps VBR, Is this the right format or is there a better format. Note I am using a pc.

    3) After the above format has been rendered, bring rendered project into Sony Architect and set the properties to MPEG2, 720×480 with a pixel aspect ratio of 16:9 for widescreen

Anyone who else wants to join the conversation, please do

Thansk Bob, thus if you select linked you set the same gain limit for two external mics between -11dBu to -65dBu. However if you are using internal mics is there any gain setting that you can use to increase the volume ? or there is only volume control 1 – 10 for internal mics

Thanks guys for your replies, but does anyone know what the AGC Link refers to, and within this link there is two options, which are linked or separate, what does this mean ? AGC link is found under the Audio Input section.

    Hi Bob,
I read the manual and it confuses me a bit as regards audio settings.
If you are trying to increase audio gain on the internal mic , do you do this by changing the relevent channel’s audio volume between 1 – 10 ? or you do this along with additional method to increase audio past level 10

Also as regards ATW is this handy to use when you are filming in the same location (e.g. church) for a few hours but haven’t got time to update the white balance ?
