Here’s a different question along the same lines…
How do you make a global change to your active audio for an entire project? I have over a thousand cuts and I only cut the video, the audio track stayed constant. But after editing the entire show (two one-hour multicam clips) I’m realizing the audio is corrupt and that I need to make a global change to another audio angle.
Just can’t figure out how. Using FCPX. Thanks! 🙂

Not having heard back, I chose the Pro Res 422 NTSC but it’s too square. I’ll continue experimenting but sure would love to hear back as to the best choice.
The parents I create these for tend to be higher end clients with large widescreen TVs and blu-ray players. Does that help with advice on my choice?

Sometimes I just copy and paste the offending track to a new track and that helps. Also try closing and reopening the entire program. Seems simple, but that often works wonders too. GB is buggy.

[Michael Gissing] “Forget iTunes. If the file from GB is not in those formats use Compressor or free software like Audacity to convert to aif or wav with those specs”
Agreed! 🙂
Export at the highest quality possible from GB… (see below)
Compress Using: AAC Encoder
Audio Settings: Custom – 256 kbps, Highest Quality, Stereo, optimized for MMX/SSE2You might also try unchecking Compress (2nd example). That exports your song in it’s original quality.
Once you have a high quality file use Compressor as suggested above.

Following your advice, I changed the FCP sequence setting to ProRes 422, but when exporting to Quicktime, there are quite a few ProRes choices. Which should I choose?

I was asking what format the music was exported as, but it sounds like you’re good now. 🙂

What settings are you using when you export to either disk or iTunes?

Thanks! I’ll give that a try. I read somewhere that “none” leaves the footage uncompressed and is why I was using that “codec”. Mostly for the titles and credit roll.
Thanks again! 🙂

“ProRes might improve things a little.”
Are you suggesting ProRes as a capture setting or sequence setting once I’m done editing and am ready to export to Compressor?
What VBR settings would you use? What about the GOP settings?
The live theater productions I capture run as long as 2 1/2 hours.
Thanks! 🙂
