    Hi Senior
    I believe the error is because the TC is a layer and not a text animator on the Text Layer.
    To make things easy here is a CS6 project file that shows the implementation of the code:

    Hi Senior

    In algorithm I meant that it’s a general Idea to solve the problem.
    But you can utilize it like this(just name the relevant layers):

    startValue=thisComp.layer("textLayerName").text.animator("AnimatorName").selector("Range Selector 1").start;
    Text=thisComp.layer("textLayerName").text.sourceText;
    Text.length*startValue/100;

    Hi Senior
    Sure thing!
    I believe multiplying the length with the value of the range selector will give exactly that. (I assume you are using the Range Selector’s Start/End)

    The algorithm (as oppose to code) should be something like this:

    Text.length*startValue/100

    I hope this is clear enough and to the “point”.

  • Hi Jenna

    The issue you’re describing looks like your puppet mesh does not include the exterior portion of that image when you use the Mask expansion.
    If I understand correctly increasing the Puppet Expansion value will solve this quickly.
    You can change it from the toolbar when the Puppet tool and the layer is selected, or directly from the layer in the time line as seen in the picture below.

    Hi Senior
    If you connect the to the layer’s Source Text you can use the “length” property which counts the number of letters you have in the Source Text of the text layer.
    It should look something like this:

    thisComp.layer("TextLayer").text.sourceText.length

    Hi Yair
    If you wiggle the Brightness effect on a layer, you can add to it a Colorama effect and create the six colors that you need, and the wiggled brightness of the layer will catch one of the six colors appears on the gradient.
    cheers

  • Hi Suang
    I recommend exporting through the adobe media encoder and use it’s built in presets.
    Mostly mp4 formats (h264 h265), they create relatively small file sizes.

  • I had similar problem with working with element 3D on 4K materials with high MP textured objects.
    unfortunately the only thing that solved this was to move to a newer version of GPU (1080gtx).
    I hope that you will manage to solve this without replacing your current GPU.

  • You can take 2D tracked points on the face and convert the, to 3D rotation values with the technique in the link below.
    The tutorial shows how to achieve this with the 2D points generated with the facetrack in AE but it will work with any stabe 2D tracked data.
    Good Luck

    I believe that regular animation + mosaic effect on top (on a containing or adjustment layer) will yield the wanted result.
