Problem Solved.

I downloaded MPEG Streamclip for Mac OS here: https://www.squared5.com/

Had to make sure the m2v and aiff files have the exact same name, then opened the MPEG Streamclip app and just opened the m2v file…it brings in the aiff file with it automatically. Then chose File/Convert to MPEG with MP2 audio

Thanks…can you recommend a good muxer, to mux an m2v file and aiff file, on a mac?

I tried ffmpegX and it muxed a few seconds of the clip but then “failed”

I also tried going through DVD Studio Pro, and using the VOB file to make an mpg file, but to no avail.

Of course I should have started out by saying that we’re not actually shooting anything…except an actress against a green screen. All the background images I already have in place. That’s why I was wondering if there’s any filter I could use to make the image that I put inside a mirror actually look like it’s coming from a mirror…some effect to set it apart from everything surrounding it, like a blurriness, or maybe what looks like a coat of dust (since this is supposed to be an old mirror).

Sorry, I’m not being real clear –

Let’s say you compress your film into a 200 MB quicktime movie from FCP. And THEN you compress that 200 MB movie into a movie under 100 MB, through quicktime player…

Is that the same as compressing it to under under 100 MB straight from final cut, or do you lose quality compressing twice? My intuition is yes, because the more transfers you make in film, the poorer the quality is going to be, but I don’t know if it’s the same for digital.

Yeah, will it always be better to export directly from final cut as opposed to exporting from a quicktime movie of your film?
