If any of the above doesn’t work it must just be that the firewire board on the dsr 45 is fried (is fcp seeing the picture but not the timecode?) I have seen two DSR 45s go in the last couple of months because of hot plugging the 45. If you want to be sure NEVER hot plug (ie plug or unplug) whilst anything is on. Bad Juju. Expensive repair to the 45 may be on the cards – you have a warranty still, right?
