I don’t have an answer for the codec question but I have found that importing the AE Composition via Dynamic Link to be a better workflow and does not result in any noticeable difference in video quality from first rendering out a QT and importing to Premier.
I hope this helps.

Hi Bret,
Thanks.
I think I can get away with a cookie mechanism and avoid a database. Do you have any pointers to how to work with cookies? Any web sites, books, references?

OK. I did more research and find that using Dreamweaver for the HTML creation and Mozilla Thunderbird for creating an e-mail is a good solution.
The problem I am having is that the images that I host and reference using img src tags are appearing as attachments in the received e-mail. I am trying to create an e-mail marketing campaign where the e-mail looks like a web page (actually is a web page) and is only viewable if the viewer is connected to the internet. This will keep the e-mail lightweight but image rich.
Any ideas?

Hi Bret,
Thanks for the heads up on Cartweaver.
I may be able to have all the items on a page, but I have to assume not.
The backup plan is to have the user download a form and e-mail it themself but I would like to try to avoid this.
So, I want the user to browse the site and whenever they see an item they like, click a button. Finally, then they are done, the would be able to e-mail the list of items they clicked to a predefined e-mail address.
Any ideas?

Thanks Bret.
The big picture is as follows:
The customer selects items on the web site and a form should be e-mailed to a sales rep. The sales rep will call the customer and negotiate prices and revised quantities. The customer pays by check after receiving the goods.
This is the reason that I don’t need the billing support, etc…
I will check out cartweaver and learn ASP, PHP or Coldfusion as required to implement.
Do you know if cartweaver or others can support e-mailing the cart upon checkout or will I need more to do programming/scripting on my own.
Thanks again.

Thanks again Abraham.
I will research further on google!

Hi Abraham,
Thanks for the quick reply; I was afraid of that 🙁
Can you recommend a simple (and maybe free or inexpensive) shopping cart solution that works well with Dreamweaver?
I don’t need any billing support; I simply want to compile a list of items (as described in the original post) and when the user “checks out”, I want to e-mail the list to a pre-defined e-mail address.
I am hoping to get something that will require the least amount of scripting, etc… I mean something really turn-key (if such a thing exists).

May 27, 2007 at 10:19 am in reply to: PC system recommendations for Adobe Creative Suite Production Studio PremiumHi Joe,
I was reading your response and noticed the comment
“However, what is key to a successful system is using a dual boot system… Keeping your editing software (ONLY) on a seperate physical drive (not partition). Also, using a seperate physical drive for your rendering is a very BIG plus.”
Can you elaborate on what you mean? Do you mean dual boot or do you mean that the editing program is ‘installed’ on one drive AE on the other?
I have a Dell Precision 390 with Intel Core 2 Duo X6800 2.93GHz and 3G RAM with 2 internal drives and an nVidia Quadro FX 3450. I use Adobe Creative Suite Production Studio Premium and would love to improve system performance.

Thanks Walter
Any idea of the size of this market (i.e. how many videographers/media content creators that would use a client review system)?

Hi Jeff,
I use the same sw as you do. I recently bought a Dell Prec 390 with Intel Dual Core 2 Extreme processor and 2GB RAM. I got it with the nVidia Quadro FX 3450 graphics card and two internal HDD. My configuration costs $3600 and I am very happy with it but I think you can configure it for $2,500.
Good luck.
