I have that titler, along with Boris 3D, but I couldn’t figure out how to make anything scroll. I didn’t see any crawl or roll buttons in the software. It looks just like Boris 3D to me. Any hints? Thanks.

Thank you. I think I tried that but I probably didn’t push the buttons in the right order, or didn’t hold them down. I’ll check it out on Monday.

Follow-up question: I need to bring the files into Final Cut Pro 7. Does it automatcally record them as Hi-Res .mov or do I have to go into the Ki-Pro menu for that?

I am converting them now. I recorded them originally with a Tricaster. I didn’t know about the checkbox for recording an extra .mp3 file along with the mpg2 (I know now!). There is also a new upgrade to the Tricaster that will record directly to FCP-compliant .mov files. We are looking into getting that, as well as recording to a Ki-Pro recorder. Thanks for the advice.

Thanks for your ideas. It’s not the tape. I was able to capture the tape using the standard DV setting. It’s something in the software or hardware.

The de-interlace didn’t help but it turns out the problem was that FCP was using a Sorenson 3 compressor for the sequence (these were strange .mvp video files to begin with). When I switched over to the DV compressor and rendered, the stills were fine–didn’t even need de-interlacing. Thanks.

How do I deinterlace? I don’t see it under any of the video filters.

Leading it is! It tends to squeeze the letters a bit but I guess it has to at some point. Thanks again.

If I may ask another question: Is there any way to adjust the line spacing in Boris 3D? I want to bring the single-spaced lines closer together.

I called our local Mac support. They send someone out and he was able to reinstall the OS and replace the defective file. I can’t remember which file was corrupt, but it’s all fixed now. Thanks for the tip. If it happens again I’ll give it a try.
