    Hey Dave,

I know this is an old thread but finding it was somewhat timely for me.

I just completed a slideshow presentation for a local company that was spot lightng the best places to work in Rhode Island. There were about 52 companies, each with a bunch of photos, and a logo. I had our graphics department put 3 photos into a PSD template I gave them that had 2 alternate positions. I then brought the PSD files into AE as composites and animated them.

It was a long, grueling project with a tight deadline. I swore that unless I could come up a way to create a template with motion, where I could just drop in the photos I would never do it again.

the link you gave the original poster pointed to a page that explained about .aet files, but now how to set up something like I am lookng for.

    Any suggestions?

Eureka! and I AM an idiot!

I was poking around the menus and found LAYER STYLES > CONVERT TO EDITABLE STYLES.

Never really paid attention to it, but I was so bamboozled by the fact that Photoshop styles weren’t carrying over, I KNEW there had to be a simple fix. Voila!

Thanks for the help though Vishesh.

    Hi Vishesh,

Thanks for the tip but unfortunately it did not work. The layers are coming in without any Layer Effects from Photoshop, so there are none to remove.

I’m hoping someone has an idea of what may be causing this. It’s frustrating not to mention time consuming to have to back to the Art Director’s PSD file to see what effects she put on, then switch back to AE to apply them.

    David,

I love this style of animation, even though it becoming a bit overused. Planet Fitness has some GREAT versions of Kinetic Typography in their ads as well.

Here is a tutorial I found very helpful:

    Good luck,
