I’ve read if you increase the size by a whole number it helps.

    eg. picture is 72dpi so make it 288dpi (72 x 4 = 288)
where as if you make it 300dpi it will be multiplied by 4.17 and photoshop will have to guess more pixels.

over to the right of your colour selector there should be a custom colour button to let you choose the pantone and other colours

Tried it again and it worked fine, I was creating a composition and then trying to bring the imported one into it instead of just importing as comp then resizing it. If that makes sense.
    Thanks for your help.

I understand this, but when I did it this way it gave me a composition with all the layers merged so i couldn’t animate them seperatly.

Your version of premiere may need the HDV plugin

  • I’ve noticed that alot of tutorials that show up on the cow also show up on TV ad’s here in Australia about 1 month later. Thats a pretty big compliment in itself.
Sometimes I would like to see more tutorials about priciples in After Effects that would help speed up production time rather than ‘this is how to do this effect’ tutorials.
That said, I still love the ones you do and always check them out and learn alot.

There is a tutorial for doing this in 118 or 119 edition of Design Graphics Magazine. DOn’t know if this will help though cause its not online (the tutorial).

Will they need to be that good if they are for video? Or are you saying they will be printed to look at while watching the video?

How big are the original photos? if they are larger then 720 pixels wide then you can crop them at the right ratio and then resize to 720 x 480. They should import correctly then.
