Hm, I was just thinking this sounds like my problem… then you said it was something to do with Blackmagic. I haven’t got any card in my machine. .ipr files just give me a blank screen in FC. I can render to .mov and import that and it’s OK. But not the .ipr file.

Hmm… I have an irritating Mac as well. It seems very slow. My problem I’ve been told is the way I’ve set up my four terrabyte system… I just did it as one big Raid volume. Apparently a dumb idea. You need a separate System Disk and as the man said above, move the scratch disk to a separate disc.

I haven’t got round to reformatting and reinstalling everything yet… boy am I looking forward to that! But essentially if after doing that and i’m still having problems of this nature, it means the Mac isn’t working as it should.

Since all the tests i’ve done indicate the Mac is OK, then everything points to the disk configuration.

The In and Out points seem OK. If I click Render Background when rendering to Movie then i get the clip properly exported.

However, if I merely save the ipr file and import that into FC I still have the same problem. No background.

The default setting is a tick in the Render Background box when creating a .mov and no tick in the Render Background box.

    How do I change that?

    Yes it does… Should it?
