Using FCPX and/or Compressor – not a problem.
Add markers to timeline and choose ‘chapters’ from UI when doing so. When sharing, in the video tab, make sure “include chapter markers“ is selected, then share. Or, in compressor add/delete or edit chapters from Fcpx by right clicking in timeline and share out to codec of choice.
On occasion I’ve also used Handbrake and had success too.
    HTH?

I believe they were shot on the latest iPhone. However they do have some burnt in closed captioning – I think from an app.
I shoved them through handbrake and voilà, all done. It wasn’t an earth shattering project; I was simply curious – but thank you Jeremy

    David,
Currently on Mojave and use a lot of Ripple Training’s plug-ins. Am happy to report that I’ve had no issues with any of them in either High Sierra or Mojave.

This may sound a little obvious, ergo please forgive for asking: have you by any chance formed a compound clip by mistake?

Almost sounds like you need some instructional design software. Inside most there are tools to do this or the ability to write specific macros.

    Susan,
You can use the Range tool (R) and select the area around the key frames – you should see them turn white – in my case – then go to the edit>keyframes>copy. Place your playhead where you want them to be placed and edit>keyframes>paste.

  • Dave,
Instead of importing & copying the well used assets, maybe leave them on a place on your network or a folder on your storage device, on import?

“Choose a storage location for the media files:

Copy the files to the current library: Select “Copy to library” to duplicate the files and place the copies in the current library storage location. For information about setting the storage location for a library, see Manage storage locations.

Note: The name of this option changes to “Copy to library storage location: location name” when the current library is set to an external storage location.

Link to the files at their current location: Select “Leave files in place.”

Note: If you select this option, Final Cut Pro creates symbolic links (also known as symlinks), which are special files that point to the media files. If you later copy or move clips between events, only the symbolic links are copied or moved (not the source media files). To replace the symbolic links with the actual source media files, select the events and choose File > Consolidate Event Files. For more information about files and clips, see Media files and clips.”

    Just a thought,

    Lawrence

  • Have you tried using QuickTime screen record when using your tablet? Trim out the parts you don’t need and save?

If you don’t have compressor, you can right-click on the resulting QuickTime file, choose “encode” at the bottom of the contextual menu and select 1080 from the drop down. Then save and let it encode it.
