    mp4’s stripped of their audio on import

    I do apologize if this has been answered ad nausem but I’m wondering why some MP4’s are stripped of their audio when importing?
    FCPX 10.4.7
    OSX 10.15

    Thank you for your time and responses – this is niggling me like hell!

    Are they slow motion clips? (S&Q In the Sony parlance)

    I believe they were shot on the latest iPhone. However they do have some burnt in closed captioning – I think from an app.
    I shoved them through handbrake and voilà, all done. It wasn’t an earth shattering project; I was simply curious – but thank you Jeremy
