July 27, 2019 at 4:16 am in reply to: Replace clips in Sequence (from EDL) with Multi-cam Sequence as sourceHi Greg,
That is exactly what I was doing ☺
I ended up not pursuing autoEdit as part of my workflow, but I never did figure out how to swap out the MP4 proxy for my multi-cam sequence. It seemed like it should work, so perhaps it is a bug in Premiere. I haven’t tried it with the latest 2019 version yet.
There’s always the wish-list forum for Adobe products. If you end up adding a feature request please report back here and I’ll add my +1.

May 1, 2019 at 4:26 am in reply to: How does Premiere treat clips ‘below’ others on the timeline during export?Hi Charles,
This should have no affect on filesize, however I remember reading somewhere that it does affect render time and that these clips are still considered during the render despite being obscured. I’m not 100% whether this is still the case, but I got into the habit of disabling any clips that I’d covered with B-roll or B-CAM. Not just changing visibility for the layer either, but disabling on a per clip basis (Cmd+Shift+E).
I’d be curious to hear back from you if you get time to do a couple of renders to compare.
cheers,

May 1, 2019 at 4:20 am in reply to: Premiere Pro 13 – will not drag video into the timeline only audioHi Jennifer,
I hope this isn’t way off the mark, but have you checked that the video tracks are highlighted on the sequence you’re dragging to (eg. V1 on the very left side)?
This used to catch me out all the time.
Otherwise … I’m afraid I’m out of ideas.
Goodluck!

October 10, 2016 at 6:41 am in reply to: This project contained a sequence that could not be opened. No sequence preview preset file or codec could be associated with this sequence type.THANK YOU! I was having a mini heart-attack.
I had exactly the same problem – signed out of CC the next time I opened the project and asked to use trial mode. I created a new project, saved it, then opened the old project file.
As an aside, I also changed the Memory preference from “Performance” to “Memory” (may or may not have made a difference).

February 23, 2014 at 10:08 pm in reply to: Are there any plugins that can do a “writing” text effect automatically?Perhaps too late for the OP, but there is a plugin for this at aescripts called QuickDraw.
I have posted a reply to the following thread with the details: https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/2/1024499 or you can go straight to the plugin here: https://aescripts.com/quickdraw

This may be too late for the OP, but there is now a plugin available for exactly this effect.
When I was faced with a project that was entirely write-on reveal I experimented with the Stroke Effect, Write-On effect and the Paint Effect. To bust through a lot of this kind of animation, I went for the Paint Effect and used my Wacom to trace all the line-work and text. You can then set keyframes for each Paint stroke individually, which gives you great control but gets a bit fiddly and tiresome so I wrote a script to help with this. In the interest of full disclosure, I’m selling this After Effects plugin on aescripts, but it is definitely how I would approach this kind of write-on effect.

Check the Comments section on the aescripts page as there have been a few updates since the first release. One downside to using the Paint Effect is that it doesn’t play well with layers that have the Constantly Rasterise asterisk turned on, but there are work arounds for that.
