I was using Istockphoto to find music for many years (about $30-60 per song) but recently they were purchased by Getty, and now the price went up to an unaffordable rate.
After researching all the different audio places out there I found AudioBlocks, which has 1 year UNLIMITED downloads for $99. Here’s a link to that coupon: https://audioblocks.refr.cc/JF2LSW6

I purchased this and been using it for my client projects for over a month (needed stock music and sound effects). They have a pretty good selection and you really can’t beat the price.

In regards to licenses and contracts, definitely READ them. As someone who had to read all the contracts and license agreements for the different audio/music sites (as a rep for my day job production company), a lot of them charge you or limit you to a certain amount of “views” or even charge per year that you are using the song. If you’re doing online videos, this is a very outdated and inconvenient policy- because as we all know Youtube videos are up forever, and no telling how many people will view it.
From my experience, AudioBlocks seems like the best deal. You just pay for the subscription and then you get unlimited use of the music, that’s it.

September 21, 2016 at 3:33 pm in reply to: USB microphone not working with Novation AudioHub mixer

Thank you for your help everyone. I did get Novation customer support on the phone and they confirmed that indeed the audiohub is NOT a mixer- and it does NOT take ANY microphones. All the inputs are for line level and by the time I convert the signal, for that price I might as well just buy a real mixer.

Their product description is VERY vague and the reason for the confusion, hopefully others won’t make the same mistake. But that’s the good thing about Amazon– RETURN!
    =]

    Have a great day!

Thank you for the detailed response Ty. Yes I see the these devices don’t have much support online or anyone who is readily available to help. (not even customer service for the hub/mixer).

I do appreciate your help. The hub has a power supply and the instructions say that it CAN power any USB devices plugged in. So I am not sure why the mics would not be one of those devices.

I’m trying to figure out a workaround right now, maybe to bypass the hub all together. I have three USB mics, and there are 3 usb inputs on the computer so I could conceivably plug them in directly. But now my question is… How do you tell Audacity to record from 3 microphones? I have not been able to do this. The preferences give only 1 selection.

Is there another audio recording software/application that can record three USB mics? I’m even willing to cut down to 2 mics if that’s all we can do for now.

Thanks again Ty. Have a great night.

  • Hey everyone

Thanks for the helpful replies. It’s all fixed now. I found that someone who previously used the camera had a pro-mist filter on one of the lenses. I also loaded the same profile onto both cameras, and now they are very close.

    Thanks again!

  • thanks for your help John. I appreciate it.

  • Hi John,

Thanks for your reply. What if I wanted to keep Snow Leopard? and make it look as if everything on the computer I’m on now, is exactly on the new computer?

    thanks again,
