    Hi Walter,
I am using a Mac Pro 2.66 GHz Quad Core Intel Xeon with 8GB memory. AE CS6
What I am trying to do tell the story of our company’s history over time. I was given graphics created for print, so I have this timeline that kind of looks like a winding road I am moving the camera around to tell the story. The effect I am using is just the stretch and slide transition preset in the transitions/movements folder layered with light rays to give the appearance of speed over time, because the timeline isn’t big enough to have speedy camera moves.
I was thinking of exporting the final piece and then importing it back in . Maybe that would work better than having AE try to render that effects on a comp with several comps imbedded in it?
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

    Sorry, I meant “spanned”
    I have a Panasonic AJ-PCD2 P2 card reader.
In the log and transfer window, they are showing up as separate 4 GB files.
I do this all the time but never this long of a shoot.

    Thank you for your posts.
    I have another question.
The 5D and 7D cameras shoot h264 at 4.2.0 and the footage needs to be converted to Apple Pro Res in order for me to edit in FCP7. I do a lot of green screen work and have read that DSLRs are not ideal for that. Is the Mark III any better?
    What about the AG_AF100?

Thank you all so much. It’s starting to make sense.
    I think. 🙂

So I should shoot 720p 24PN to avoid the extra frames that 24p was giving me? And I will get true 24p video. Doesn’t 24p give a more filmic look to the footage? Won’t 24PN that look more like video?
And the HVX200 doesn’t shoot 1080p? Or does it?
    I don’t see 1080p in the manual.
    Thanks,

    Laura

    It’s all so clear now!
    Or muddy.
So in FCP I was getting two of each frame?
    I don’t think the HPX200 shoots 1080p so I should start shooting at 720p 24PN?

    Hi Shane,
Now I am confused. I just imported 60 frames of footage into FCP and got one second of footage.
Can you explain or do you know of any articles that can explain to me, in layman’s terms, how this whole thing works? I have been shooting this way for 4 years and always thought I was getting 59.94 fps video.
    Thanks!

    Laura
