    John,

I saw you were using the Canon EOS 5D Mark II. How is Sony Vegas handling the files?

    Any challenges?

Have you tried it with Version 9 yet?

    Thanks!

April 30, 2009 at 4:42 pm in reply to: Does anyone use the subtitle track in DVDA?

    Thanks Rob!

I meant to say that the project has one video stream and audio stream, but with multiple references to the same file. (Shorter segments)

I then added the subtitle track and subtitle file to every instance.

This is where the project never gets smaller and gets corrupted.

    Make sense?

    Thanks

I posted a specific earlier and had no response at all so I thought a general question might produce some response! Thanks!

There is a software bug that occurs when adding a subtitle track that the project size doubles to beyond what a DVD will hold. This can resolve itself when subtitles are added for all tracks. (Size drops down to normal)

What is not resolving itself is when the subtitles are made bold and the size is increased. The project stays too big nad I’m having the projects go corrupt and won’t load.

My impression is that there are very few people using subtitles with DVDA.

    Thanks

    Thank you DSE!
Your project certainly exceeds my 30 min TV program.
I changed my settings, but will have to wait and see on the next project.
    I’m confident in your assessment.

Since your seeing this I’ll mention my latest Vegas WS addition.
I purchased an Audio Kontrol 1 audio interface and am sending the signal to a Presonus HP4 multi headphone amp.
Now I have a separate output to my near field monitors, my LCD monitor, my Sony video monitor, a set of Dorrough Loudness meters, and my Mackie mixer. All signals have a nice level knob so I can here the mix on different speakers, read my meters, hear via headphones through the audio Kontrol 1 etc. So far I really like it.
It was inexpensive and is versatile.
The only downside is all of a sudden I’m hearing a hum in my near field speakers. Trying to track that down.
Thought if you liked the setup you could share it!

    Danny,
Sad to say I never thought of that, or heard anyone else suggest it, but once hearing it, it is a bug Duh! Why didn’t I think of that.

I’m going to go looking for the area that includes only the clipping peaks since that is new. I may need to post again if it eludes me!

    Thanks

    Thanks John,

That is what I’ve thought, but all three editors here are havy problems with the HDV footage and heard service pack three may be causing troubles.

We are having rendering failures and Vegas stop responding .

    Thanks

Forget the artifact. Somehow I caused it and it is not on the camera tape so let’s not waste time on it!

    Thanks
