I downloaded DVD Styler and gave a donation.

Once opening it, I found no full HD video options, not blu-ray.

Is that your finding as well? Hope not.

I have watched several training videos on media management, but I still don’t have a full understanding .

If some files became managed in the library, there are still the original files on my RAID somewhere, correct? My import method always started by importing from the folders in the RAID. Managing them would not delete anything in my understanding.

I chose not to have managed media as the standard, but somehow some files came in as managed.

I did not consolidate the library with the projects inside to creating duplicate files.

    I hope this is clear

  • Andrew,
Where you able to merge libraries? If so, how did you do it?

I did not think it could be done.

My use of folders was so that when I imported assets FCPX would automatically assign keywords for organization and thus saving me time.

The project folders and libraries are on a 24TB RAID drive which also contains many other projects in separate folders.
I need to deliver the project on an 8TB single portable drive.

I’ll need to research cloning, but it could not be the entire drive.

    Suggestions!

December 20, 2017 at 6:06 pm in reply to: How are we all getting on with 10.4?

I never update during a project, but several days ago I decided to load fcpx 10.4 on a second system to begin learning the new color tools.

To my surprise, 10.4 loaded automatically on my main editing system, a 2013 mac pro 64 gb ram.
    Is 10.4 buggy?
Is it creating any problems for anyone?
    Is it affecting plugins?
How risky is it if I finish a long 2 hour documentary on 10.4? OR should I use time machine and go back to 10.3X?

Since the new 10.4 means updating libraries it looks like a no going back once I update them. I can use some experienced advice! THX

My mac pro is still on Sierra, my second system is an iMac and i updated to High Sierra on it.

    I’m very nervous!

  • Thanks, Noah.
Now its asking me for dual layer DVD media.

I have already made a dozen and it never asked for this!

    What?

Sorry, got a phone call and had to rush out! must have sent save by mistake.

My question is: If an audio clip that is not connected to the video (like a prores file), but is on the timeline and most definitely is placed where it is in sync with the attached audio, is it more subject to going out of sync than the audio attached, or in a compound clip.

Going out of sync through export not being bumped on the timeline.

    THX

Larry – the DVD question is more important than this one if you have to choose.
