I’m using a Windows 7 PC.

Intel Core i7-920
12 GB ram
USB mouse
USB keyboard

The pausing never happens immediately after ME2 is opened. A user can click outside the window ONE TIME without the playback being paused. Then after clicking outside the ME2 window and then clicking inside the window, the next time a user clicks outside the ME2 window the playback will pause.

BTW… Can the spacebar pause/play be disabled?

Thanks for your attention to this problem. I intend to use the ME2 as a playback for video clips during live presentations during which some multitasking may be necessary.

I think the answer is to use the Black Magic codecs. I discovered that my Sony Vegas 9.0 has those codecs and they work just fine in AVI or MOV, SD or HD. So that seems to be the answer. If your NLE doesn’t have those codecs, get them or use a different editor.

If you are capturing HD and intend to burn a standard def DVD you will, of course, have to downconvert the file to SD. You will also need to produce an .m2v video file and an .ac3 audio file for DVD burning.

This you should be able to accomplish within your Adobe Encore.

If you are intent on burning a HD disk, you will need Blu-Ray authoring software

Thank you for the reply. Yes I do see the Date/TimeStamp data in the Date/TimeStamp column. And there is some sorting going on when I click the header.

I think I’m beginning to understand the sorting scheme used in this column. It appears that it is taking the numerical value of the numbers as they appear without regard to there place value significance. MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM:SS or May 09, 2000 6:45 PM = 05/09/2000 06:45 pm looks like…
5,092,000,645. While 12/14/1999 10:15 pm looks like 121,419,991,015 and is therefore a larger number, but at the same time and earlier date.

If you were to try to sort a wide variety of dates and years I believe you would see the similar results.

Understand, if I were only looking at material shot on the same day or maybe within the same month, the sorting might be usable.

This an example of my project media window with date/timestamp selected to sort in descending value. Notice the year column begins with 1999… then 2000… then back to 1999. and it isn’t even descending…

That is great advice. Amazed I didn’t think of it myself. Windows encoder is already install on this PC, all I need to do is use it.

Thanks for the reply. If I render in Sony AVC, is there a pretty good chance that my client can play that render on windows media player 9?

Also, I’m not really running out of memory. 12 gig installed. Can I raise a setting somewhere to allow more of that memory to be used? Would that help?

Thanks for the reply. I have Scenealyzer that I purchased and installed 3 or 4 yrs ago. It is a solution and the one I used last night to capture 3 hrs of 4 ch BetaCam SP. Channels 3 & 4 are captured as .wav files. Channels 1 & 2 are captured with the DVCam avi, 32k format.

I assumed that in the 3 to 4 years since I last tried this some improvement would have taken place.

Anyway, Scenealyzer works fine. I just regret having to use the 32K audio mode for ch 1 & 2.
