A little coffee tip at the South Hall: there is always a HUGE line for the Starbucks outside the lower South Hall. If you’re just drinking drip coffee – head inside to food court – they have Starbucks drip and there’s no waiting! They also have tons of flavored creamers etc.

  • The new timeline rules! Love everything about this rev so far. If PPro is anything like this it could do really well.

Watched their videos – looks great – to be able to do high-end grade right on the FCP timeline is awesome. But at the same time so sad… maybe they’ll make versions for other NLE’s down the road?

  • Such an agitator!

Guess I’m still holding out hope that the next revision will bring more key features and performance so I can make a semi-permanent NLE decision. Which of course can change at NAB when we see what Adobe, Avid etc. have up their sleeves…

Yikes, I hope you wrong too. I’m not getting your hook up with versions and exporting a section? The two have nothing to do with each other. There’s always times working on a show when a section needs to be exported for review or whatever – every other NLE has this necessary feature and I’m sure it will be added back to FCPX. I don’t get how versioning replaces the need to export a specific area of the timeline.

  • I loved the HP booth last year right upstairs in the South Hall – with those cushy recliners – I watched presentations I didn’t even want to see but didn’t want to get out of the chair…

Exactly! Had the same issue – deleted a few stray clips that were way down the timeline and rendered but forgot that the blank area is not “blank” it’s slug and needs to be deleted.

Hopefully this will be fixed soon – we need to be able to set in/out and export that area.

If you use batch render script in Vegas – make sure you set up your Dnx pre-set exactly how you want it in the render window before you launch the script tool.

Very cool. Current 3D in Photoshop very simple and slow so this will be welcomed improvement.
