Many vendors have open and invite only events all over town Sunday. The Cow always has tons of press releases posted every day. You can also get the NAB daily paper Mon. morn and check all the news and releases. They have an updated PM edition I usually read on the bus back to the hotel.

Yeah I’d heard of this company in the past but never seen their “pro” NLE – looks interesting. Pro RES cutting on a PC? Demo videos a bit lacking…

Congrats Dennis – finally looks like a real pro update – on everything in the package – seriously. Would have been fun to have been part of the beta for this round… certainly might have made past pain disappear.

I look forward to seeing it in action at NAB – I think we have an Adobe staion in the AJA booth so hopefully I can play around with it a bit. Biggest question of course is upgrade cost…

Well it does do range rendering and you can now turn off the “workspace” bar and use in/outs like FCP7. I would assume you might be able to export the area since it will render it?

I was just thinking the same thing lol! Not much action at all in the Adobe forums, but here in FCPXland, just hours after Apple updates their NLE, Adobe is getting all the attention. Nice pre-NAB leak Adobe…

Someone else asked this about a new iMac and the Adobe person said no – their card was NOT supported! Just the 2 cards they mention used in certain MacBook Pro’s. So my 5770 in my Mac Pro is NOT supported which kinda sucks…

But I have no problem building an uber PC workstation if I end up liking the software. A new 6 core i7 with SSD, nVidia GTX680 graphics card, 32GB RAM etc etc can be built for around 2 grand…

  • Yeah $999 ain’t gonna cut it (no pun intended, I think) – the new CS6 bundle kinda embarrasses Avid a little – wow what an upgrade!

New tools look great – but not good enough to match the action on 2 different types of hits: set & spike – a tad embarrassing. Editor’s Job #1 Attention to details… 🙂

  • The whole package looks better. The PPro interface is what we were hoping for with FCP8! I mean they’ve really gone a long way here – huge improvements in every area. Love the bright Avid-style clip colors on the timeline too – always hated the pastel labeling in past versions.

Really anxious to see it in action and hope it actually works as advertised! Be interesting to see upgrade/crossgrade cost. Adobe has not been too friendly in this dept. in the past.

  • Wow nice find Michael! Though this seems to be a sneak-peek version with more time spent on Jason Levine’s talking head than the programs….

Some cool stuff though for sure – send to Speedgrade, Adjustment Layers on timeline, OpenCL support so non-nVidia users get some love, improved 3-way corrector, great thumbnails with “skimming!” etc.

    Gonna be a crazy NAB!
