  • They are 28:30 from start to finish, and the LiveType files are the major part of the rendering. Once in a while I may have to color-correct a video file, but that doesn’t happen often.

I’ll try a single sequence export to see how that goes – if it’s way fast, no sweat. If not, I’ll try the batch export as you suggested

    Thanks a ton! 🙂

  • I should also add – prior to trying to Edit to Tape on the system I bring the project into, even though it appears rendered, I’ve also tried to command it to render the sequence, and it doesn’t do it. It only starts to write the video after I drag/drop to Insert Edit to Tape. Then it’s “write to video” forever! 🙂

  • Yes, I was discussing just that option with a coworker earlier. Since I usually let sequences render overnight on my system anyway, it wouldn’t make much difference.

Question re: QT export – is there a way to export all open sequences to QT video, just as you can render all open sequences? If so, that would definitely be a viable option (no hand-holding to export each sequence individually).

  • No … not much nesting. The basic program we do entails 1 track of video, with about a 10-second LiveType graphic every 30 seconds, simple crossfade transition on either end.

    1) are there any 3D layers?
Yes, as a matter of fact – aside from the flag, I have a beveled-edge square map swiveling in, with another layer of one of the countries cropped out, swiveling in with it, and it breaks off to larger scale after they both enter.

    2) What is the minimum amount of stuff you can put into the comp to make this happen? (e.g. one layer, no effects?)
Well, the flag (which seems to be the originator of the “line”) initially had the wave warp and drop shadow effects on it – however, once I disabled the drop shadow, the line stopped appearing beneath that flag graphic. However, no drop shadow is present on the text layers, and the line is still appearing under both of those (only effects I’m using there are opacity keyframes).

    3) Does it happen all the time (no matter what is in the comp, in any comp, in a new project, after a restart, with any effects) or only under specific circumstances?

I ran into it on Friday, the system was shut down over the weekend, and this morning after starting up, it was still doing it. I’ve only seen it in this project/comp – I’m about to start editing another background similar to this one, so I’ll see if it reoccurs.

Check your Time Controls tab – you’ll need to uncheck the Full Screen option. I run into this anytime I edit after my coworker, ’cause she likes full screen and I don’t.
