    Oops, I forgot to mention I have AE6.5. Also, the rest of this piece is going to be edited in Final Cut Pro 5, so if there’s a way to correct the footage in FCP with results equal to or better than AE, that would be nice because it would save me some rendering.

    Yes, my work area is set to the length of my comp (3 seconds).

    To be honest, I have never actually used the Purge option before…I’ll assume that was stupid of me and that’s my problem.

    I have used this program a lot in the past and rendered out many many things, and during the editing process used the RAM preview religiously, and there never seemed to be a problem until now.

    Should I use the Purge Image caches/ Video memory (or maybe even Purge All) everytime I start something new in After Effects?

    And by me “Purging All”, does that free up all the memory that is available to AE (in essence wiping out everything that was once stored in my AE memory)?
