Finally had time to troubleshoot further. I wasn’t able to find any additional documentation or successfully implement the strategies detailed in the link. Extremely frustrating…

I went back asset by asset and my light was set to cast shadows across all elements. Unchecked the option and I appear good to go. Thanks for your tip, it lead me down the right path.

I’ve used a camera movement (pan in), a light source to create a textured background, and the rotation of an element. Thanks for your willingness to work through this with me, I obviously have a lot to learn about AE.

The assets are all small .jpgs 1 – 2 MB (800×600 px).

I shrunk the .psd down to 1920×1080 and saved as a 2MB .jpg. Same error. I did find that by turning the 3D layer on and using the mouse wheel to zoom in and out (no scrubbing) caused the error to display.

I replaced my final element and now get an error message specifying that 4.5GB exceeds internal limits instead of 9.2.

Apologies if I’m not getting the right information out there, this is new and quite confusing.

That is the movement I’m going for. I’ve edited and cropped the image (now at 3022×3011). However, as soon as I make the layer 3D the message returns.

I’ve imported the updated file in addition to the existing and one is a .psd (making the error display) the other is not. The error displays as soon as I scrub over the .psd Does that play a role?
